Exciting News

We are so excited!

Heidi has been bred to Roy (aka GCH Stelor's Royalty Remembered).  Roy wore his Love Collar to their date.

Since we haven't had a litter here at Buck Hollow for 3 years we just can't wait for Heidi to present us with a beautiful litter.  And since we are down to only 4 dogs in the house we really, really need a puppy.

So all fingers, toes and paws are crossed.

Intercontinental Champion

Intercontinental  & UKC CH Buck Hollow's Destiny JHA

Another cold, windy day at the dog show. It was supposed to be a bit warmer, but the clouds kept blocking the sun and chilling us. It was a good day though - Devon is now an Intercontinental Champion - she earned 5 Excellent ratings this weekend. She also had two Group 1s today so had to stay for both Best in Show competitions. No Best in Show for her, but it was a good day (I can say that now that I am almost thawed out.)

Next are two AKC shows in November...wish us luck.

ICKC SHOWS

I'm finally home from the ICKC shows in Denver, PA.
 
The high temp today at the dog show was 52, but we had wind all day so it really felt a lot colder. My feet didn't thaw until about 2 PM after I had a bowl of potato - leek soup.  There was a wonderful Potluck lunch set up in the pavillion...more food than people and everything I had was delicious. 

Devon got 4 Excellent Certificates so if she can get one more tomorrow she will be an Intercontinental Champion.

I just hope it isn't so cold tomorrow.

A Great October

Lynn had a wonderful October at the Hunt Tests.  Two of his clients finished their titles.

Margo Sassaman ran her Blaze to 4 straight Junior Hunter qualifiers.

Brian Emerich & Deb Wenger's boy Chooch completed his Junior Hunter Advanced title.

And our Heidi earned two Senior Hunter Advanced legs.

Now more training and preparing for the Spring Hunt Tests.

Another DUH moment...

I was planning to attend the UKC shows in Bel Air, MD this coming weekend thinking that Devon needed another competition win to complete her Championship.  So while searching the UKC website I found a link to do a UKC Points Check.  At 7:20 AM this morning I sent an inquiry and by 8:30 AM I had an answer to my query.  Is that FAST or what?

Devon is a CHAMPION.....WOO HOO.

So I get to stay home this weekend and enjoy my new Champion that I didn't realize I had.

Exciting News

After a boring, hot summer we are looking forward to fall and a great vacation to Ireland in September.  And then we can continue our plans for this litter in 2014.

Rainy days & Mondays always get me down.

And this being both a rainy day and a Monday I should have expected some bad news.

The bad news is that Heidi has no puppies.  We had so hoped that she would carry this litter for her final breeding.  It was not to be.

Guess there is always next year.
